Xbox Live Help

Hi , Probably a stupid question ..
Just got my plusnet pro broadband activated this morning but i cant sign in to xbox live
My xbox settings are on automatic and when i diagnose the problem it says
''Cant obtain ip address from router or modem''
Im using the Thomson TG585 v7 Router and have a static ip
Any help  ?

Edit : It somehow worked when i turned the xbox on before my pc

your geting an ip conflict then.
check the lan setup options on the router and idealy set each mac address to obtain the same ips each time
