World of Warcraft Intermittent Connectivity

Hi, first post here....just wanted to find out if anyone else has similar issues regarding WoW.
We are a little unusual I guess, because we are on a US server; which is due to having American pals and wanting to play with them.
Anyway, we use a Netgear router DG834Gv3 (wireless) and have two pc's networked to it.
Both pc's are gaming spec'd Dell XPS etc and are less than 6 months old.
The problems we experience are intermittent; sometimes we have better connectivity than our US pals but other times its up and down like a h*** drawers!
Like tonite; we were off to SSC; got in, low latency and bang...the connection drops and then is up and down until...well now really (4:35am).  Speeds dropped really low i.e. under 200kbps and we must have dc'd around 15 times, until it stablised again.
I have checked the firmware on the router and its as up-to-date as possible; I have now requested to change product with plusnet to YourWay Pro Gaming to see if this helps but any suggestions/advice would be really helpful.
Thanks

Re: World of Warcraft Intermittent Connectivity

dc from server or your router dc'd?
if wow is on the gaming list then probally moving to pro will not improve things. but if you  use alot of games online then pro means all your traffic falls in to the top two priotiy's so even if the game is not on plusnets gaming list u will still have gd ping times ova the network.
if im wrong on that some one will surely correct me.
yep im up this early because of cod4.

Re: World of Warcraft Intermittent Connectivity

also have u done a tracert to the server ip wen its playing up to see if any of the hops along the way r to blame.
u do that by command prompt and typing tracert (ip address of server) with out brackets.

Re: World of Warcraft Intermittent Connectivity

Been having problems connecting tonight... seems something's not quite right at Telia. Any ideas? (And yes, the tracert continues in the same vein after step 9).
See below:

tracert eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
Tracing route to eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com [80.239.178.116]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
  1    2 ms    1 ms    1 ms  voyager.home [192.168.1.1]
  2    39 ms    38 ms    39 ms  lo0-plusnet.thn-ag3.plus.net [195.166.128.80]
  3    38 ms    39 ms    39 ms  vl303.thn-gw2.plus.net [84.92.3.178]
  4    61 ms    39 ms    39 ms  ldn-b4-link.telia.net [213.248.84.197]
  5    37 ms    39 ms    37 ms  ldn-bb1-link.telia.net [80.91.250.234]
  6    46 ms    46 ms    45 ms  prs-bb1-pos6-0-0.telia.net [213.248.64.9]
  7    45 ms    46 ms    46 ms  prs-b1-link.telia.net [80.91.250.249]
  8    46 ms  380 ms    45 ms  prs-tc-i1-link-telia.net [80.91.250.30]
  9    *        *        *    Request timed out.

Trace complete.

Re: World of Warcraft Intermittent Connectivity

havent a clue whats wrong sorry. but did a couple of tracerts and got same results did these at 2pm today. 1st one to the 80.239.178.116 and second one to eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com and these said it was a 80.239.178.112 ip address.
r u on fastpath or interleaved as i got 20 ms less ping than u im on fastpath on a 2.5mb line but could of bein the gateway  thn-ag3 wasnt performing to well at the time u did the tracert.
gd luck solving the conectivety problem maybe one of pn staff might come across this and tell u whats going on with this problem.
