Re: WoW Latency

you on interleaved or fastpath?
they dont look to bad for what looks like interleaved line
do you know the ip of the wow server you use and have problems with? if so try running one to that
http://www.egn.com.au/wiki/WoW_Server_IP_Addresses
not sure if this link will help you find the ip or not as dont use wow or pc to game. you can allways run wireshark why playing the game to find the ip's used http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/troubleshooting/wireshark.shtml

this are my fastpath pings

Re: WoW Latency

That looks perfectly normal - Blizz block ICMP at their edge routers.

Re: WoW Latency

Greetings folks, I too have had this problem over the past week. Up until now the service I have recieved from PlusNet has been exemplary, especially compared to the debacle that was VirginMedia and thier tiff with Telia *shudder*
Game tends to lag up after a few hours of playing but if I reset my router it tends to give some respite however temporary it is.
Here's a traceroute I did to the server I play on to help shed anymore light on what's going on.

Re: WoW Latency

@afroshin - your pings look absolutely awful!  Are you absolutely *sure* that no other downloads are occuring during gameplay?  If not, I would seriously start looking at faults on your line.
@johnpayne - I would recommend that you do a Wireshark capture to check that the traffic is being prioritised correctly.

Re: WoW Latency

That traceroute was done with no downloads going on and without the client running when I had a lagspike. Could do one after a router reset if needed.

Re: WoW Latency

Out of interest - does your router give you FEC/HEC error counts?
It sounds like your line is experiencing high error rates, which in turn is leading to high retransmit rates, and thus high pings.
However, the most 'usual' explanation is high download rates - is your router wireless, and is it suitably secured?

Re: WoW Latency

do you think my line looks decent enough to turn interleaving off without any problems?
