I have been asked to run Wireshark to try and see why my Playstation 3 just will not let me play Fifa 09 online, does it support the PS3 will I see the traffic on my pc from it?

It depends upon whether you have only a router or a hub.
A router sees where a packet is destined and only sends it to that port. A hub is unintelligent and broadcasts every packet to every port; it is then up to the equipment on the end of each port to decide whether to accept the packet.
If you can get hold of a hub you need to plug the PC and Playstation in to the hub and then connect the hub to your router. Wireshark on the PC will then be able to see all the Playstation traffic.
