Wii Mario Kart

Afternoon guys
new Mario Kart - I've not picked up a copy yet but am hearing lots of positive buzz about it
Anyone used it on their PlusNet broadband yet? Good or bad? and any word on how it compares to the rest of the world?

Re: Wii Mario Kart

Played it over the weekend and it was great.  Played 6 international games via my PlusNet Small Business Premier account and it was fine.  No lag at all, or is that a reason I could use for my poor gameplay mmmm Grin

Re: Wii Mario Kart

Good stuff - I should be getting a copy in the next week (once the www.justgiving.com/plusnet 10k is finished) then I'll have time to play Smiley
We could have a couple of inter-PlusNet races if interested?

Re: Wii Mario Kart

My friend brought Mariokart Wii over on the weekend. The game took quite a while to load, but once we were racing, the lag was non-existant - even when we were racing against 10 other international players. I've raced against people from Japan, Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands so far without any problems at all.
The graphics are a little disappointing - they aren't much better than Double Dash, but they're definitely shinier. Gamecube controllers are definitely the easiest way to control it as well, but you cant do the cool air jumps without the motion sensors of the Wiimote. And I really miss not having the Baby Park level. That level would be total carnage with the increase to 12 people!
The battles are waaay better than the racing though. Some of the maps are huuuge and when 12 people are fighting, prepare to wreak havok! Smiley

Re: Wii Mario Kart

OK - I've buckled Smiley
You're right, Source IT, it works perfectly. Once the game is connected there's no lag, on my PlusNet broadband anyway. I've also not had any dropped connections mid game.
When will we have the tournament?  >:-D
