Unstable Connection Lag spikes BF4/BF4:CTE/COD:Ghosts

Getting intermittant laggy spikes when playing, its really not fun rubberbanding all over the place.
Started around a week ago.
Anyone else have a problem?

Re: Unstable Connection Lag spikes BF4/BF4:CTE/COD:Ghosts

You're not the only one mate, have a look around the gaming forum, thread after thread of gaming lag complaints, and no resolution to any one of them, it seems Plusnet/BT's network is simply not good enough for gaming.
Short term, disconnect and reconnect the router, and you might end up on a gateway with less congestion and better pings, but it's doubtful, as I've cycled through pretty much all of the gateways and they're all the same.

@ JLyle - Are you on ADSL or FTTC? If on ADSL, can you post your router stats?
@ bolt786 - Not a helpful post. You've not shown any issues with pings in any of your posts.

@ ghos7em1 - Your line is erroring and interleaving has been applied. This will affect your gaming.

Re: Unstable Connection Lag spikes BF4/BF4:CTE/COD:Ghosts

The PN outage shouldn't have had anything to do with it.
You said somewhere that your speed had been reduced - this would have been DLM intervening to provide stability on your line. You need one of the DCT guys to see if there's an issue.

No issues with ping?, have a look at the ping average and fluctuating pings from london level3.net

Re: Unstable Connection Lag spikes BF4/BF4:CTE/COD:Ghosts

You're missing the point.
There are no issues with that traceroute (as has been explained before several times). There is no packet loss or high pings to the destination (final hop) which is the important bit. Some routers will either not respond to pings at all or they will treat them as very low priority, which is what you're seeing on hops 5-10 and 12-14. I see the same, but this is not an issue.

Re: Unstable Connection Lag spikes BF4/BF4:CTE/COD:Ghosts

A PPP drop would not cause DLM to intervene.
Edit: You need the DCT guys to do a GEA line check to see if that shows anything up.
