Steam ?

anyone Help  when i got my new 7870 GFX card it came with free games from Steam to download , But only one i was interested in " DIRT 3 showdown " so in installed Steam , download game IT wont RUN  >:(.
uninstall it try again , still wont run    i have checked all advice on steam forums  done what has been suggested , rolled back ATI  drivers to previous version .
but no matter what i try i still cannot get it to run , HEEEEEEELP

Are you getting any specific error messages?
You tried right clicking the game and performing an integrity check on the files (it might be called something different)?

no error message just crashes the PC   , & yup have checked integrity of download .
it doing me head in   .
its not my PC see  spec,s below...... i  can run BF3 all on ultra

If its crashing the PC as in powering it off I'd say  its the PSU.
If its crashing the operating system, might be a memory fault.
If its just exiting the game, you'll probably have to wait (and hope) for a patch.

Might be worthwhile running something like Memtest86 to double check that your ram is fine.  Back when I worked on PCs more regularly I found more BSODs from memory faults or overheating then anything else.

i understand where you are coming from Dan L but my system runs BF3 on ultra settings  all day long with no problems , all hardware is new less than a month old .
its just something with steam & Dirt

Yeah you're right, that is very strange.
I guess its waiting for a future patch and hope that fixes it.

Is the card overclocked?  Is it possible to 'un-overclock' it?
I't annoying when you get something 'free' and it doesn't work, in reality it's not 'free' but 'included in the price/package' and you have every right to expect it to work correctly, using the term 'free' lowers expectations and makes people less likley to complain.  Have you contacted the supplier since part of what you paid for doesn't work?

yup walker23 my card is factory OC http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1160&pid=1499&psn=&lid=1&leg=0 so i don't think its possible to return to factory defaults 
& yes i agree IT not  a free  game but a free download "STEAM" included

Daft question, and sorry it's probably too late now, but did you try verifying the local content for the game via steam? If anything crashes on loading that usually fixes it for me.
