Hey im not sure if its worth me posting here but why not, I will write in the steam forums too
I had the problem with counter strike but I didnt care much because I dont play that anymore, but now I have the same problem with insurgency (another steam game).
Im able to browse the server lists without no problems, I can even join the server, but as soon as I join the server about 30 seconds later I get a connection problem and then get disconnected from the server. This happens to every server, on both Insurgency and CS 1.6. Thing is Team Fortress 2 (another steam game, works perfectly fine). I dont use any software firewall. Anyone got any ideas?
cheers

Hmm sounds like an issue that I had a couple of years back, are you finding that your internet connection is completely dropping?
If so, try telnetting into the router:
Bring up a command prompt
- Start > run > cmd
type in
You'll be asked to enter your router username and password.
Then type:
You should get a list with a line similar to this:
This is causing the issue.
To fix it, type this command:
If for any reason you want to undo that command just telnet back in and type:
Hope this helps.

Quote telnet 192.168.1.254

Then type:
Quote connection bindlist
You should get a list with a line similar to this:
Quote GAME(UDP) udp 27010-27011
This is causing the issue.
To fix it, type this command:
Quote connection unbind application=GAME(UDP) port=27010-27011
