Steam email address verification at weekend, anyone else?

Had a Steam client popup asking to verify my email address.  Never had one of these before so wondering if its a new security feature or if its triggered by failed attemps to login to an account.  Waiting on a reply from them, 4 days later so checking if anyone here had the same recently.

I had exactly that and it wasn't related to anything as I hadn't logged in for some time and I have a fixed IP address

All of my friends, including myself, have had this recently.  I guess Valve are just updating their email records.

ok thanks got me wondering if a new hacking attempt was starting, as it is time for a new password anyway
