£250 in the UK. That price goes for the current 80Gb and the new slim version as of today.

Save your money and buy an xbox 360 elite! sony and there ps3 is going downhill this gen,atleast with 360 you have vista!!

I read about the £50 reduction just after I posted that.
Not bad, I thought the UK wasn't going to get a reduction at all.
Must have been frustrating if you've just bought one though.
I bought mine at the beginning of the year (not that I use it much) - the 160Gb model.
Was only about 30 quid more than the 80Gb, with a few more games .. so I went for that one.
At the time I wondered why you'd need all that HD space, but my curiosity was quickly answered when every game I seemed to insert wanted to download a 200-500Mb patch.
It makes we wonder how many times CS face the question of "I've just bought my son/daughter a new console and we've gone over our allowance, but we're not sure why"

A colleague of mine bought one a few weeks ago but he didn't know about the slim version then
As he says "you can wait forever for a cheaper/better whatever"

Actually there are rumours of a 250Gb model coming out of the slim ps3 so will people be kicking themselves if it comes out just after they buy this one, maybe not. But it's true what strat says.

The price cut will be great for the PS3. More devs will want to develop for it...I hope.
I still have my launch ps3 and bought a 360 few months ago because no good games were coming out on the Ps3, hopefully now good games start coming sooner than later.

I'm sure any laptop type HDD can fit in the PS3 anyway so maybe it would be better searching for an HDD to go with a cheaper version PS3
