Like the others it would appear once agin we are not getting the service we should be from an "award" winning provider! 😕
What is it this time, as it can't be Christmas lights  Wink wet leaves on the lines perhaps.
The below is after several reboots to try and change gateway, more chance of getting a Mac code than that!

Could you run this command and post the results please:
pathping -p 50 -q 100 bbc.co.uk

This should show where the delay is occurring.
Edit: Please wrap the results in [pre]...[/pre] or
...
tags to make it readable. It also helps if you resize the cmd box to give longer lines before running it so that you don't spurious line wraps.

When i do the pathping thing it just says tracing route over a maximum of 30 hops...0 No Resources, what does that mean?
It's gone again tonight, high ping and the download speed has dropped by half, was working perfectly fine earlier today.

I haven't a clue - never seen that error.
Can you still do an ordinary tracert?

Ping results are terrible tonight and speed is fluctuating wildly up to 60% of norm.

Re: Ping problems - whats going on? Seriously getting annoyed.

I'm glad I decided to check this forum/the web as I was convinced it was me having an issue. I was forever suffering lag in the evening whilst playing Modern Warfare II and everybody else in the group wouldn't be. Ran various ping test/tracert's yesterday before signing up today and my ping at best was 116ms but typically around the 200+ mark!
This is one I've just run now whilst I was composing this post and it's not good reading:-
C:\>tracert www.bbc.co.uk

Re: Ping problems - whats going on? Seriously getting annoyed.

Agreed, it's been bloody awful tonight. Specifically for me, between 15:45 and 18:30, though it was picking up a bit at the end.
Contrary to recent posts by others in this thread, I've actually had low latency for a good while, until tonight.
edit: also BBC iPlayer was unwatchable.

Re: Ping problems - whats going on? Seriously getting annoyed.

Again, things seem fine on speedtest sites , but ingame are absolutely pathetic. Is the following tracert why?  Whatever is wrong can you fix it please this is just gone too far now, when i joined i had around 30 days of amazing lag free gaming , funny that the canceling period is 30 days........  Can someone from plusnet please look into my line / account and see if there is a problem , because i'm not going to stay long for this service if there isn't some kind of fault Angry

Re: Ping problems - whats going on? Seriously getting annoyed.

Just closed my question which has been open for about 2 months, in the end they pointed me to visit portfroward.com, I mean seriously. Guess I just better hope it gets improved.

I was getting similar results to you over the w/end as well. I'm with Madasafish who are now owned by Plusnet and I never suffered this problem prior to the takeover. I was due to leave Madasafish last month due to other reasons (line continually dropping and very poor support) but I think this is now the final nail in the coffin as it's really frustrating. They claim to be gamer friendly but with ping results like this how they can claim this? After 4 years of being a customer I think it's time to look elsewhere and actually make that move!
