Re: Packet loss and high latency

Ok, thanks for the reply. Once I get back into the house I'll do the traceroute for you and put the results into here. Also thank you for all your help and everyone else help.

Re: Packet loss and high latency

No worries. In addition could we ask what games you were having issues with?

Re: Packet loss and high latency

The only game and can fully monitor the network is Counter Strike Global Offensive. As you can have a network graph overlay. That was the reason I noticed the problems in the first place was with that game.
I’ve always had slight lag on most games and never thought nothing of it until like 3 or 4 weeks ago when it started getting worse.
I’m also getting high latency in Sea of thieves as you can also have a network counter on there. I don’t have any other way to monitor other games other then Overwatch, but that’s always been fine.

Like I said in the private message the static IP has improved csgo as I didn’t see any problems at all last night, it was just when I started downloading a game this morning that the packet loss occurred.

Re: Packet loss and high latency

Thanks for the info.

When you're free, could you post up a live BQM graph here?

My Broadband Ping - internet

I am not at home at the moment and have no clue why it has stopped responding, but that is a current graph.

Re: Packet loss and high latency

Can you grab a historical graph from the TBB interface showing the packet loss?  I can't see much interesting on the ones on this thread, but I think they are live ones so showing now, rather than then.

Re: Packet loss and high latency

I am really sorry but I do not know what you mean by a historical graph. I have searched everywhere on that TBB website and can't find anything related to that. All I know is that I am getting packet loss which I shouldn't be. On the graph I linked to this page you can see from 10 am this morning I was downloading onto my PC and was receiving ongoing packet loss until the graph stopped receiving data. You can see this at the top of the graph in red. I am currently out at the moment and can not do anything related to my internet.

I am sorry if that sounds rude, but like I said in previous post I am not savvy with the wording of some stuff as I do not know what I am doing. That is why I came here.

Re: Packet loss and high latency

The level of loss your showing at 10am just looks like what I'd expect if you were doing a lot of downloading at near your maximum speed.

The loss on this earlier graph you linked

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/abb803dc4244df4a66a5f57c6cbeb3a5d3913f82-21-07-2018

is a problem, but we think we've fixed what was causing that.

Are you still seeing lag spikes or worse?

Re: Packet loss and high latency

Thank you so much for elaborating on that.

Since having the static IP it has defiantly improved stuff. Also if you say that everything is normal then I am happy.

I'll update you in regards to any gaming issues in a while as I will do a bit of gaming now.

This is the traceroute result.

Is there anything else you need me to do ?
