Re: PSN Still Down

It's better than a poke in the eye
...but as Dvorak says 'what if you have all five do you get the cash equivalent?
I very much doubt it.

People over at xbox.com are laughing at this and think It cant happen to them as they pay for the service, I say more the fool them.

Indeed, I remember very well how Xbox Live was down for a full 15 days over Xmas...  Couldn't log in at all.  That's when I sold my Xbox and bought a PS3, never regretted it for one moment.  The online service is not only free, it's better in many ways too.
The current downtime is annoying, but it's not the end of the world, I've been playing Portal2.
the REAL eye opener in all this, is how badly the press have reported it, with even sites like the BBC getting facts mixed up with myths.  I think I have heard more horse-poo these last few weeks than I have ever heard before, from scaremongering about creditcard and passwords being taken (false), to out of date Apache and no firewalls (also false).
The press should be hanging their heads in shame over the irresponsible way they have reported this.

Re: PSN Still Down

My son called me yesterday and started the conversation with "sorry...have I disturbed your gaming...haha" Wink
He loves the fact that I didn't join him and buy an Xbox 18 months ago and am now suffering for it.
I'll get him back Smiley

PSN Update

You can now (as of about midnight last night) download a PSN patch that will be required in order to start using PSN when it's back up fully.
Once PSN is restored to the UK the update will require you to change your password for the login.
Happy gaming.....soon!

Yes I read on one of the blogs that that was one of the many security updates.

Re: PSN was down---but not any longer

...and how the hell do they expect us to download these 'free' games when it takes hours on end to download a single little patch?  There's no way I could ever download two full-games with Plusnet's line-speed.  I can't even play the on-line aspect of games due to the connection constantly signing me out of PSN.
