I've no doubt the 'people' responsible would be delighted if this was so as their sole intent is to damage Sony or at least the gaming division.

Quote Haha some of the people commenting are on the verge of suicide cause its been down for so long. Have they not seen the weather?
Yesterday I took my grandson to see some old abandoned lead mine workings in Lathkill Dale and a lovely day it was.
Today I was out in the garden clearing a load of weeds and another lovely day....until the shower.
Every cloud has a silver lining

Quote Sony is "rebuilding" its PlayStation Network - as the service remains offline for the fourth day running.

Quote Sony learned of the breach on April 19 and immediately shut down the PlayStation network, but kept quiet about it for a whole week.

Quote Sony Corp's No.2 Kazuo Hirai will brief media on Sunday about a huge security breach of its PlayStation Network, the first time an executive of the Japanese electronics giant will publicly address the case, which could prompt global legal actions.
Hirai, in line to succeed CEO Howard Stringer, will hold a news conference in Tokyo at 2:00 p.m. (1 a.m. EDT) on Sony's investigation of the case, its information management system and the schedule to resume services, the firm said in a news release on Saturday.

Quote Sony representatives said the PlayStation Network, which has been shuttered for almost two weeks, will be back online on or before the week ends. A press conference was held at Sony’s headquarters in Tokyo to explain the situation.
Users of the Sony-maintained online gaming portal have been having a bad couple of weeks after hackers wormed their way to PSN and the Sony-owned music and video streaming service Qriocity late in April. Executives of Sony admitted in a press conference Thursday that they shuttered PSN to prevent further damage and minimize the loss of valuable information.
Sony executive Kazuo Hirai apologized to the gamers and promised that by Friday, PSN would be live again. Hirai said the network will be stronger and safer when it returns.
