PS4 Playstation 4 on BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet help

What are the best network/IP settings shall I enter manually into the PS4 and what settings in the Home Hub 5 Type B so online gaming works fully?

Cheers,

Have a look at putting the PS4 in the DMZ

Thanks did that but PS4 still displaying NAT Type 2. I like NAT Type 1. Have i missed out on something?

Also does the IP address has to be out or in the DHCP Server range for this router?

Re: PS4 Playstation 4 on BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet help

I don't have a PS4 so can't be sure about anything.

From what I've historically read, NAT type 1 is really no nat at all = you have to cut off everything else and let the PS4 be the only device to get your wan ip address/connection. Probably not even possible with a home hub.

I may be wrong of course, but I also recall (long ago) reading that NAT type 2 is fine and you won't gain anything by getting type 1.

Edit: If you set ip manually on the PS4 then it should be outside the DHCP range (but in the same subnet).

In theory you shouldn't need to do any of this as it should use UPnP - but then there are plenty of posts where people need to.

For this BT router is it best to use an IP address within or out of the DHCP IP table range?
