the game connects to the server on port 3658 and runs voip on port 6000

Like I said it also uses two other TCP ports, the actual traffic between players (peer2peer) is UDP 3659

The Net Ops team made these changes yesterday and you were moved off the temp fix, hopefully things have been continuing to work!

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

Thanks for the reply Carl.
Inital results are not looking good 6pm sunday, 1st time ive had a chance to play it at peak times. Very long delays connecting to server. Will not connect to the other players when I can finaly get into a game.
As you are aware this game is seen as peer to peer traffic so looks like there might still be problems with the network. I will try again later and let you know how I get on.  Undecided
I am now at 101% and got all 350 online challanges  Smiley

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

Can you be online between 7-9pm tonight?
Carl wants to look at the traffic on your line and needs to know specifically when you'll be starting up your gaming sessions with no other traffic occurring on your network.

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

James 7-9 is not a problem, will be online
My ps3 ID is mk2cav
I can ensure that there is no other traffic on my network.
Can make it any time that suits Carl. I will be on at 7pm.
Thanks for all the help, it is appreciated.

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

Hi John,
I'd drop Carl a PM so that you and he can discuss specific timings as apparently it needs to be rather exact so that he knows exactly what to look for.
He does suspect that it may be NAT/Forwarding related.

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

Hi James, I can make it 7pm exactly if that help.
The NAT/Forwarding issue doesnt make sense because it was all working perfectly last week when I had no restrictions, unless its a NAT/Forwarding issue at your end.
Thanks.

Its more about NAT/restrictive firewalls in that there are other ports used to facilitate the game connection, my PS3 is No-NAT, DMZ (non-restrictive) firewall.

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

The game also uses UDP 9600-9699 as per this link
Moderators note by James_H : Shortened URL - auto shortening didn't work for some reason, suspect *'s in the URL confuddled it somewhat.

Re: PS3 - Burnout Paradise network issues.

I've just authorised a change control to add some more definitions for Burnout Paradise so it will be interesting to see how things pan out this evening.
