PS2 Singstar on a PS3?

Has anyone used their singstar ps2 mikes and games on their PS3? DD would like the high school musical singstar game but it's only out on the PS2 and not the PS3 and don't want to waste my money on it for it not to work..

The 60gb PS3 plays some PS2 games and the mics are compatible anyway BUT I'm not sure if the game you want is compatible. It came out at the end of last year when they were starting to phase out backward compatibility so there's a chance it won't work. Also, if you don't have the 60gb version of the PS3 I believe it won't work anyway
Can you find a second hand copy from a shop with a decent returns policy (i.e. you're allowed to return a game just because you don't like it) so you can return it if you find it doesn't work on the PS3?

Right, the mic's will work A-OK as the hardware is exactly the same. The game, however, won't work even if you have a 60gb PS3 as it isn't on Sony's backwards compatability site (it came out at the tail end of last year when they were phasing out BC)

as far as I know they aren't working on the updates for BC anymore.

Thanks very much for the replies, i do have a 60GB one.
Ah well will have to hope they add the songs to the PS3 sing store....
