PCIE cards?

Any recomendations for  PCI express video card?
Always used ATI but recently upgraded the system and am using onboard nVidia.  Only buy one game, MotoGP, it is stuggling to play 03, there are so many cards I have no idea what would be required, any suggestions.
thanks

Re: PCIE cards?

Go for the GeForce monsters!
The more you spend the better!
Got the 8800GTS and its a beauty not found a game yet that kills it... well Crysis on Highest settings, but COD4 runs a treat with everything on full.

Re: PCIE cards?

You might try the 8800Gt 256MB which is only about £120 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=708007
Personally I will be going for the 512MB option and I won't be using XFX who tend to use cheap components

Thanks for that, I wont use Scan though, had bad experiences, usually use Ebuyer then Dabs.

Re: PCIE cards?

I snapped up one of these a while back - 768MB 8800GTX.
I've not been disappointed so far.

Re: PCIE cards?

In the new year I will be getting an 8800GT, most likely the BFG OC2 model but it depends on reviews... the only other alternative would be the eVGA pre-overclocked model. Just my preference, but I've learnt the hard way too many times that you get what you pay for. BFG offer a lifetime warranty and eVGA 10 years, and both always score very well in benchmarks and reviews.
I reckon you only really need the GTX if you're playing in very large resolutions on a widescreen monitor, and as I use a 17" tft this isn't a problem for me.
