Nightmare joining cod black ops

Bought call of duty blacks last week and thought I'd try it online to, after all cod mw2 works online but is still slow,
Can't join parties or find games...i have tried most things that people have posted but I'm getting
Confused or can't work out how to do things, I don't understand static ip address etc, could someone please post a step
By step on how to get online with no problems 🙂 need to know anything about what I've tried just post....many thanks

can you post platform and your set up etc please?

Sorry my bad! I'm using xbox 360 and thompson router TG585 v7 and I'm using it wirelessly
Also mw2 has an open
nat, and joining a game can take between 4-8 mins to find a game...so why would blacks ops not work.
