New PS3 Released.

Sony have released a new PS3....or not Undecided http://uk.playstation.com/new-ps3/
Is it just an old PS3 in a different casing and a bigger HD or are there spec upgrades inside.

Re: New PS3 Released.

as far as I know there isn't any upgraded specs, it's the smaller version that's of more interest to see how much it would be.

Not much positive reaction so far, mostly negative regarding price and bundling.

Re: New PS3 Released.

A bigger 500 Gig HDD, and a wallet friendly 12Gig version,  and if you want to expand you have to buy a dedicated (sony) HDD.  Not enough to warrant myself getting one, my 250 gig slim is plenty enough for me. F1 2012 anyone ? Due out friday.
Edit :
Looks like it can take any HDD as long as you buy the dedicated bracket, wonder why they didn't opt for a SSD instead. 3 usb ports, still a bit stingy. no mention of usb 3.0 either.
