Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Hi, I opened a ticket a while ago ( probably two weeks ) describing what feels like lag or packet loss while playing World Of Tanks. I have provided various pingplotter screens and traceroutes which seem to show packet loss along the route and on the Wargaming servers. It seems that a Plusnet staff member also plays WOT and was having similiar problems so my ticket was added to his internal ticket.
I have made this post today because the lag/PL is truly awful at the moment, and I can use this to post some screens from pingplotter later on.
If anyone from Plusnet notices this and has any updates regarding the issue they would be gratefully received too.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Are you seeing that packet loss right now?  I'm not seeing it and my traffic is going via almost the same route.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

No that was at the time I posted. I played some more later that evening and did a Wireshark capture between 7:50 and 8:10, I've pm'd you the link to it, but have no idea if it shows anything interesting  Wink

Edit: Not at home atm but I will check again when I get back.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Since I'm a World of Tanks player I'm interested in how this is progressing.
Any updates on the tests guys? I don't have my PN Fibre installed as yet so I can't help.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

I play wot and the connection status is flashing red all the time. We dont know if the games working ok untill its too late and even then we really have no idea if its us playing bad or if the lag is putting a delay on the spotting funtion.

plusnet BT + gaming = stress.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

I am a new plusnet customer, using plusnet broadband to play WOT and I started seeing serious lag issues too. My ping is terribly spastic going from 36ms to 999ms within seconds and flashing green and red constantly with horrible lags of up to 2 secs sometimes. Reaaaallly getting frustrated. Tried port forwarding and didn't seem to do anything. What is going on?? This is not what plusnet promised. Any ideas on this post yet?

@dotunex  Which server are you connecting to, EU1 or EU2?

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

I was using auto, but it seems to connect to EU2 most of the time

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Try the other one ( EU1) and see if it's any better.
I always found EU2 to be the best one out of the two though, with a lower and more stable ping.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

not much better. But just noticed it seems like it has to do with my girlfriend's MacBook pro. When its on, the ping goes crazy. Is anyone from plusnet there???? G=Has it got something to do with mu upload speeds? She has no torrents running or videos or anything.

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Hi,
Is the Mac downloading anything?  (OS upgrade or something?)

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Nope. Just simple tasks like facebook or browsing a random website. Seems my plusnet broadband can't handle the mac's online needs with my pc's at the same time... not cool

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

I've placed an order to uncap your upload, this will complete tomorrow.
Is it doing the same even when the MAC is connected to the network but just idle?

Re: Lag/packet loss in World Of Tanks

Thanks for that. It seems to do it whenever the mac is connected to the network...
