Re: Lag on LoL

Please follow the steps below to set up your router:
1. Connect an Ethernet Cable to the router and plug the other end into the computer/laptop.
2. Open up your Web Browser (Such as Internet Explorer).
3. In the address bar at the top of the page (where it says http) you will need to delete whatever is in there, and replace this with: 192.168.1.254
4. You will be prompted for a username and password. (These should have been supplied when you received the router)
5. You should now be logged into the Technicolor Gateway. Click where it says 'Technicolor Gateway' (Just once).
6. In the middle of your screen you should see where it says 'Pick a Task', directly underneath that, you should see 'Set up my Technicolor Gateway', please click this.
7. Click, 'Next' >> Make sure Plusnet is highlighted and click 'Next' again.
8. Type in your account username followed by @plusdsl.net and also fill in your account password in the password field.
9. Click 'Next' and then click where it says 'Start'.
10. You should see a screen saying 'Configuring your Technicolor Gateway'. After a few minutes this should complete and you then need to click 'Finish'.
Please let me know if you require any further support.

Re: Lag on LoL

Did all that, got to the final step where it was configuring, and then all I get is 'this webpage is not available'. Tried from step 6 onwards and it just keeps coming up with webpage not available.

Re: Lag on LoL

That doesn't sound good.  Give the router a factory reset and try again?

Re: Lag on LoL

I'll give you a ring first thing in the morning if you'll be around and have access to your router?

Re: Lag on LoL

Cheers for your time on the phone!
It does very much sound like there could be an issue with your router.
I've updated ticket 76858664 which you should be able to see at http://contactus.plus.net and have arranged a replacement to be dispatched.

Re: Lag on LoL

That sounds like LoL isn't being identified properly.  We'll need to geta wireshark I think!

Re: Lag on LoL

There is definitely an issue IMO.
Pretty much all day, everyday now I am experiencing sharp increases in latency, never for a prolonged period of time, but certainly enough to mess up gaming. This happens when there is also no other internet activity (Running vnstat on the gateway on a separate monitor to make sure there's nothing saturating the connection that I wasn't aware of.)

Re: Lag on LoL

We're installing LoL one our test PC to get some wiresharks done.  Worth having a quick look at:
http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4019902 as they've been having latency issues since August?

Re: Lag on LoL

I had no problems last night but start of the week for a few nights I've had lag spikes which I believe are down to EUW specific servers possibly as NA has reported the same.

Re: Lag on LoL

We've installed and played a game (and won!) and verified that it's being identified correctly in the titanium queue.
Here is our traceroute to the server we were playing on:
