LAN Party - Oh yeah!!

Some of you may remember that we were looking at hosting a LAN party here at PN Towers, well we are in the planning stage now and all is looking good. The date is hoping to be mid-end October and we want as many people to come as possible.
We are particularly interested in CounterStrike:Source clans, 6 person teams. So if you are a member of a clan, then why not see if 5 other members are interested, only 1 of you needs to be a PN customer.
We aren't leaving out the individuals, we would also like to hear how many people would be interested in this, we'll put on some refreshments of course!
So let me know if you are interested.

Re: LAN Party - Oh yeah!!

Not a CS:Source player, but I'd like to come up and take part in the fun and frivolity

We are looking into more games for the day so we should have a good selection!
Anything you had in mind?

Re: LAN Party - Oh yeah!!

Hmm..
Well, I'm mainly a Warcraft player, which isn't so great for LAN parties..
However, I do also have Wolf:ET, DOD:Source, Halflife 2 Arena and a bunch of other Steam games Smiley
Not that I profess to be able to play them very well Smiley
Of course.. we'll have to segregate the teams.  Voice comms would just be shouting across the room Smiley

Ooohhhh I like the sound of this! I'd be up for playing CS:S, but I haven't played for a long time, so it looks like I'll need to install it again soon Tongue
How about UT2004, or UT:GOTY? Both good contenders for a LAN.
...Fair trip down from central Scotland though Tongue

Plenty of time to plan travel though Wink
I'm in the same boat, haven't played CS for a long time. I've mainly been playing Americas Army to get my FPS fix.

I'll need to persuade the other half that it's a good idea also Tongue
Do you have an expected number of people that will turn up? Never good to have a 5-person LAN party (Deathmatch, anyone?) Grin

Re: LAN Party - Oh yeah!!

We are aiming towards the 50 mark, there will also be a few staff dotted around so a good chance to frag the support Wink

But they obviously have a rough indication of how many would attend, else they wouldn't even bother mentioning a LAN party Wink
50 sounds good Chris, is there a deadline for saying Yes/No on this? Sounds even better being able to frag support, as long as they dont get sneaky and cheat with the network settings for an advantage Tongue

We've got another meeting lined up later this week, I'll ask about deadlines etc then and get back to you.

Re: LAN Party - Oh yeah!!

I think we are yet to confirm the games line up so Wolf:ET could well be on the list!  Grin
Does anybody still play the CoD series?

I Don't, but I'd probably play it if we come down, always quite fun to play a game you don't have a clue about Tongue

And pretty much the same key layout as the rest of the FPS genre.
