Is there a way to record longer clips on Xbox?

At the moment, I can only record up to 10 minute long clips, a while back I bought 2 external USB drives with a view to storing longer clips for my YouTube channel but they don't seem to get picked up by my Xbox Series X?

Would there be a way to sort this out?

Yeah it might work, but does it plug into a PC? I have a Chrome OS Desktop and usually this kind of thing requires Windows.

I ordered one of those gadgets from Amazon, it's coming tomorrow.

It plugs inline to the HDMI output, so you'll need to have a compatible output on your device, you'll also need extra HDMI cables and a compatible device to record to.

It's just popped through the letterbox, according to an email from Amazon that came in about an hour ago.

I'll try and set it up this afternoon, might need to nip back on Amazon and order an extra HDMI cable or 2.

Fortunately Dad's got some HDMI and USB leads to use on the thing, I still don't think it'll work though

This kind of thing tends to need a Windows based PC and video editing software.

So it turns out in theory I could use my external 4 TB hard drive for storing up to an hour's footage, if it's formatted to NTFS and can't be used to store additional Xbox games! Que?!

Well I've started a return request for that Roxio video capture device from Amazon seeing as I predictably can't use it (damn you devices that require a Windows PC to even function properly)

I will also try and find those 2 USB drives I recently bought and see if I can format them to NTFS for footage storage.

Well yesterday I paid £59 on Amazon for a 2 TB Seagate Game Drive, which is coming to my Parents' between 16.00 and 19.00 today.

My Brother says he'll help format it via Dad's Windows 10 Laptop for NTFS.
