I thought gaming is always at 2mbs

During the morning my PS3 work perfectly online, but after 6pm I can not connect to any multiplayer game on and game. I just tried to play Uncharted 2 and it took about 10minutes to get past the connecting screen. Then I waited for about 15 minutes searching for a game and couldn't find any, same on COD4/5 and Killzone 2.

I have no problems on my 360, just the PS3 after 6ish.

Same as me then, no issues here which is a bit odd.

Yes I am using wired.
I am going to try my old Sky router see if I can get that to work any better.

My download speeds are crazy slow today aswell, I am trying to download a firmware upgrade for DG834GT it is downloading at 7KB/s, is this a joke? I needed a new driver for my graphic card that was download at 16KB/s. I know about throttling speeds etc, but thats just stupid.

PS3 online is ok during the day come 6pm its shot to pieces, Fifa 10 is a joke to try and play online.

Am I right in saying that the PS3 doesn't have a "one-size fits all" traffic management signature, whereas the 360 does?

Think that is pretty close to the mark, however I don't seem to suffer the same issues that these guys do. Mind you I gave up on FIFA as the games were becoming so woeful.

Can someone help me with this problem please?  Around 9 is the only time I get to game on PS3 and can't because of it.
I couldn't try my old router, can't flash it on windows 7.

I have to say, today was perfect. I had a solid 2-3 hours of Uncharted 2 online gaming after 6pm.

As soon as I wrote that my net went down. Authentication failed
