Gaming connection issues

Hi,
Wondered if anyone can help with an issue I have about my connection. Most of the games I play tend to be on steam and since being with plusnet I've encountered no end of big lag spikes and disconnecting. Its got to the point where I have to unplug sky, turn wifi off on the phones so that I can actually have a decent game. Can this be down to my upload speed only being 0.34mb/s? and why is it so slow?

First of all, lets uncap that upload. I'll go place an order to complete tomorrow. Once that's done, let us know how the steam gaming is and we'll go to the next step.

The order shouldn't have caused any issues with your connection, certainly not yesterday. Which lights are lit on your router?

Power, Ethernet, broadband, internet and wifi lights are all on. I logged into the router and did a connectivity check and it passed on all apart from the last test of connecting to the internet.

I'd suggest a reboot of the router and then log back in and hit the 'connect' button, I've just tested the line and it's showing as in sync so just needs to authenticate.

Yeah done all that and it still won't let me connect, I have full bars on the pc but a message comes up saying additional log on information may be require.

OK, can you try logging in to the router and going to the broadband connection screen, hit 'connect' again. I've just done some tests on your line that might help

Still no joy I'm afraid. I have noticed though that when I log into the router my username isn't the same as the one in my connection details on my account. I change that as well and still no joy.

Odd as the tests I've done are showing the correct username (username@plusdsl.net)
