Gaming LAG

Hi Guys,
I'm not sure what's happened over the 24hours but I seem to be experiencing some serious lag in a couple of different games on both my PC and laptop. The games in question are star wars the old republic (ea) and Diablo 3 (Blizzard).
Both games are unplayable at the moment because of this and I require some assistance from the PlusNet lot.
I've read some of the posts her about EA games and did a Trace Route to EA's servers see here:
(BTW I have done the usual open all the ports stuff, its not that, it was fine till yesterday)

It doesn't take a pro to see that some of those ping response times are pretty bad.
I have ordered fiber on this line, hopefully due in July but I need this fixing before then as at the moment the service is unacceptable for what I am paying for.
Please advise,

Re: Gaming LAG

They are normal for a trace to a US server, normal average ping to a US hosted server is about 100 with fast path and 120 with interleaving, or at weekend/holidays 120+ for either.  Best to do a wireshark capture and see if the traffic is in the correct queue

Re: Gaming LAG

I would agree but that doesn't explain the spiky latency shown for the plus net hosts. Which to me looks like what I am experiencing in game. Over a period of about 10  seconds latency can fluctuate from 200ms to 70ms to over 2000ms and back again making it simply unreliable and unplayable.
Regardless, I have done the wireshark traces as suggested however I can't attach them because I can only attach jpegs and pdf files.

Re: Gaming LAG

Zip them for attachment.
I suspect they'll be fine as those are well known games, but it's worth a look.  It could be your line profile.

Re: Gaming LAG

It seems you line profile had got a little ahead of its self and was set to high, I've changed this to 2.5Mb//s as it should be.
See if there's any improvement and let us know how you get on.
