My lad downloaded GTA 4 via steam a few days ago.
It runs fine, does what it should, with no issues online and offline.
HOWEVER:
Everytime he swiches on McAfee I identifies the GTA start up file as a Artemis virus and quarantines it.
I have removed the file from the quarantine area at McAfee, but every time my lap switches on the computer the file is quarantined.
Any ideas how to fix it?

If you're sure it's a legitimate file, I'm pretty sure you can just exclude the GTA folder from scanning in mcafee.
I find it strange that it would be flagged as a virus though, given that the game has been out for so long, surely any false positives would have been rectified by now. What is the exact filename being picked up?
Another thing you can try is let it quarantine the file, then go to the game properties in steam and click "verify integrity of game cache", it will restore/repair any missing files, you can then see if it's still being flagged as a virus after the repair.
Good luck.

It's defo a legit file, and defo the start up file being quarantined.
There is also no option from MaCafee to mark it as safe either, which is stupid.
I must just put AVG on instead.
