Eve Online: Patch Day

Many Eve players here?
It's patch day today, and I'm finding http downloads from ccp.vo.llnwd.net to be awfully slow (30kbyte/s average, peak 100kbyte/s). Anyone have some advice on how to best improve this speed? I'm getting a 7 hop tracert to the server and a 45ms ping, and users from other ISPs in the UK are reporting downloading at the maximum their line is capable of.
We being capped here?

Depends which option you have, however if you are on the £19.99 gaming option then there is no cap on speeds except if you exceed your monthly usage.

Using the BBYW3 with 30Gb monthly allowance. Not exceeded the allowance, and as an http download this counts as "Gold" traffic on the management system.
Down at 20kb/s now.

Is it possible that you're being restricted by them since a lot of people are downloading from them at the same time.

Looks like its the new Gold plated traffic.  It is classed as 0x60 in wireshark so Gold speeds but guessing its really Gold plated so speed limited as it is an external site.

So best to patch it after midnight unless you want online tonight

It was Patch MSTuesday and Patch EveDay.
There'll have been a lot more traffic on the network than usual, so unfortunately this will make speeds a bit slower, especially on the "download server" classification.

Any thoughts yet on it?  Fitting screen is... interesting... The skill queue rocks, but has blown my plans up suddenly
