Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

For the past 3-4 days I have been getting frequently disconnected from Destiny on PS4 with error codes Beetle and Anteater.

Bungie help (game creators) have advised this is a client side issue. I have reset the router, checked my settings such as UPNP and the issue is still persisting.

I'm about to attempt using a cable for a bt but the router and ps4 are on different sides of the room and I don't want a trailing cable with the kids around.

I have been playing Destiny for 2 years without issue until this weekend. I suspect the wi fi on the router is at fault as my wife has had trouble connecting to her amazon fire in recent weeks as well. We have also had issues connecting our 2 ipads form upstairs

However for the most part my online gaming goes smoothly it just seems to be Destiny which is an always online game and so is network intensive.

Can you advise on getting a router replacement

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

Hi from a fellow Gooner 😉

I have always had issues with Destiny, the only way I fixed it was to put the PS4 in the DMZ mode and once this happened I never had any issues whatsoever.

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

I have been having the same issues. I have been getting constant disconnect from Destiny since the 8th of July. I have my PS4 on DMZ and wired. I have done 4 factory restore and nothing has helped. In addition, I have also phoned plus net and they cannot find any problems.

Geldinho

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

I have been having the same issue on certain games too. I did a connection test on my PS4 and got NAT type failed. I looked at my plusnet support page and there was a cease order which took effect on 07/07/16 - when the problems started.

After speaking to them they 'upgraded' their service at this time and this is likely the cause of the problems.

I bought a new router and the problem is the same to save your money!

They are aware of it and are working to fix it but it seems to be taking ages.

Sorry about this. Please can you clarify what you meant about a cease order?

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

Hi mate, i was getting disconnected all the time and my NAT type on my PS4 kept failing. Now first thing to check is go on google and type in "whats my IP", if you IP is 51.xxx.xxx.xxx that is the issue, maybe there are some other ranges that having issues but from reading forums most players having issues are on the 51 range, Now quick fix is to enable a static IP on your account by going to Addons, it costs £5 and fixed my connection, alternatively you could open a support ticket and see if they can change you IP to a different range and see if that fix's you issues. My IP is no in the 212 range and can play destiny as i could before.

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

that's weird. I am on the 209.xx range, and I have been red bar'ing and disconnecting since Friday, on a wired connection.

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

Maybe some other ranges are having issues aswell, So far i'm aware ranges 80.xxx.xxx.xxx and 212.xxx.xxx.xxx are having no issues, i would suggest opening a support ticket and getting swaped onto a different range to try. But enabling the static IP on my account and restarting my router did the trick for me.

Before i couldn't even load into Tower/Reef, was constantly lagging and getting kicked from lobbies.

Hope this helps

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

Its interesting that a few of us have stated that the disconnections have been happening since Friday

That points to an issue at the Bungie end

I have yet to try the wired and DMZ part of troubleshooting but will try that tonight.

I also have a new Plus One Hub on the way

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

I have the plusone hub, and I am wired in DMZ has been my set up for a while. Constant red bar ping and disconnects. Fire team wont play with me anymore until it is sorted.

If anything its getting worse day by day. I cannot even stay connected for more than a couple of minutes now.

Re: Disconnections from Destiny on PS4- Router at fault

I too have had my NAT type on strict for 4 days on my xbox one.

But not anymore as I followed, Zeroi13i advice and he was correct it did cost £5 and that changing to static IP starting with  212 works fine.

It's not just Bungie it's also happen on other games that I have like Frontiers Elite dangerous and to a small extant  EA Fifa 16. it's just worse on Destiny or any other fps where you have a lot of gamers linking P2P or servers. Also I couldn't login to my xbox 360 as it couldn't locate the internet before the change of the IP

zeroi13i is correct static IP starting with  212 are working fine.
