Hi guys first let me thank you for your amazing customer service as you have helped me allot over the course of 6 months however, i am now stuck and i don't want to leave you guys due to enjoying the community here.
I First had a problem about 3 - 4 months ago with the problem of spike lagging this was solved by adding an Interweaving* addon (correct me if i'm wrong) and was solved. unfortunately this caused a general Disconnection and Lag problem with my service and was removed about 2 weeks later 4 months now to the present i have had this problem rather consistently and it refuses to give up. Having tried to solve this problem on numerous occasions the staff at plusnet tried everything they could and eventually decided that i should raise my question the forums instead.
At the moment i am running the plusnet pro with addon service and have Ip static included as well. i am also pulling out a connection of around 15-16 mb and usually i have a ping around the 30-40 range depending on the type of game im playing for example P2P servers have an issue but that's besides the point. while playing the game my ms goes from about a deceivingly stable 40ms to about 600-1000 ms which leaves me unable to move and on most occasions i just disconnect from the server completely this happens about once ever 4-5 mins. keep in mind i am not running skype or any sort of stream while this is occurring.
During the course of 4 months i have done the following
- Changed my router (twice)
- Changed my Ethernet cable (twice)
- While running wireless connections searched for any other frequencies that could be disturbing it
- Opened ports to League of Legends ( a game i usually play ) which didn't seem to help
- Run wireshark and have sent of the details to you
- Plugged my phone line into the Master Socket
- checked my ping via pinging your servers using C.M.D
Please im looking for any further ideas on what could be causing the spike lag im only 16 and i am on summer holiday probably the last chance ill get to play my games until i get into college hoping for a reply

What game are you playing?
Having Pro on should mean that it's nothing to do with the traffic management, more likely a fault with your line, or a problem in your premesis, or with the Game servers themselves. We'll do our best to try and sort it.
Do you have a Thinkbroadband ping graph? That may help us look at general performance of your line. (like these: http://community.plus.net/ping-graphs/)

Which router are you using ?
The reason I ask is because I went through 3, 585v7 routers and all of them gave me 999 ping. I could stand behind a sniper knifing him for 5 minutes, but it didn't matter because he was somewhere else but on my screen he was still in front of me. It was funny to start with but that soon wore off.

The technicolour is the latest reincarnation of the thomson, have you tried turning Upnp off, this is a common consensus on these forums but unfortunately it didn't wotk for me, the only way I fixed my high pings was to buy a non thomson router.

you are playing on wireless?
open up a command prompt and ping out your router.
ping -t 192.168.1.254
change the channle till this ping reading is low and stays that way (around 1-10ms), carefull thou coz if you loss connection to the router you might need a cable to connect directly. but give it a chance to re-establish connectivity after changing channle.
if this isnt the problem then just a ping test to bbci.co.uk (ping -t bbci.co.uk)
