Choke on all steam games since switched to PlusNet Unlimited

I've recently switched from the PlusNet Value to the unlimited service, and on all steam games (like counter-strike:source, day of defeat source, left 4 dead) I am getting an absolutely HUGE amount of choke, making them completely unplayable, which I didn't get AT ALL before.
This is very strange seeing as

I have raised a ticket on the website which was absolutely USELESS, not only does it take ages, they said there was nothing wrong according to the wireshark capture I did. To be fair, my ping is fine, although a little higher than before, but it is just the huge choke thats the problem.
Please can someone help me, its driving me insane!

Try doing a wireshark capture to make sure it is been prioritized correctly.
Is your connection ok for browsing etc?

Re-read what I said, I've already done a wireshark capture and according to the network team it is being prioritised correctly. Browser speeds/ download speeds and everything else are absolutely fine (well as fine as you can get when you only get 1.5mbps from a possible 8 :(..).

What are your line stats?

Nope my exchange, which is Frensham, has absolutely no problems.
Sorry I am an absolute nub, what is interleaving? And how do I get my line stats?

I doubt it will be on because I have never requested it.

Interleaving is, in most cases, set to on automatically. It's there to stabalise your line and is provided by BT. Turning on fast path is requested via plusnet and then onto BT.
See here for the interleaving off option. Go to the bottom of the page titled interleaving and use the help assisstant highlighted.
Im not sure about other people's routers, it probably varies, but go to the address of your router which is usually 192.168.1.1 via your internet explorer. But can be 192.168.1.0 I believe.

For instance I can get this info

Latency is type fast which means fast path, but in your case it might say interleaved.

Can you do a tracert to plus.net
You need to open a DOS window - and then type tracert plus.net

whats it says is that you could do with getting those pings down a bit. Those are the kind of numbers I was getting with interleaving and now without it those figures are between 17 and 30ms
