Call of Duty: MW2 on Xbox 360

Hi, I would appreciate some help with this! Just switched to Plusnet on the Pro package and have had interleaving switched off, my ping is now about 20ms:
ping bbc.co.uk
Pinging bbc.co.uk [212.58.224.138] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for :
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 20ms, Maximum = 21ms, Average = 20ms
However in all the games I've connected to I still only get a 3 bar connection when the majority of other players have 4 bar? Is there something I have forgotten to do? Sad

Re: Call of Duty: MW2 on Xbox 360

The general feeling is that the bars aren't a good indicator so take them with a pinch of salt. I play this game a bit and would love to have the low ping levels you do, but at best (which is very rare) I'm normally double that and I get anything from 2-4 bars in the game.
I don't think you need to worry about your connection in my opinion.

Re: Call of Duty: MW2 on Xbox 360

i echo what has been said.
The bars are not the best indication of your true connection. When i use to game on my old PN line setup with fastpath (16-20ms) with the max preminum add on ( 20:1 conntion ratio at exchange level and 832kbps upload) my bars on cod waw would be 3-4 bars. but even on 3 bars i was still being picked by the server to be host 90% of the time.
if your ports are forwarded right ( i tend to DMZ my xbox's ip address which bypasses the firewall on your router) and your not getting alot of HEC errors ect running fastpath then i would just worry about killing more people than what you die and only worry about the bars when there down to 1-2 bars

Thanks for your replies everyone :). I see I've been wrong to be blaming getting killed on the opponent having a four bar connection ;D. I also have to say how impressed I am with my new ping considering I was getting mid 50s on Sky!

Re: Call of Duty: MW2 on Xbox 360

Hi,
I'm now having another problem with COD6 on the Xbox. Most games I have 3 or 4 bar connection but in the game it keeps going down to 1 bar (every couple of minutes) and I get serious lag. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
