Re: BF3

I have been a BF player on various version and I am not sure about BF3 on PS3. I think I am just not used to play on console. I am not sure if I will buy it or wait for Dust 514. mmmm

Re: BF3

You all need to remember that the beta was an earlier coding and you will find the launched game to be entirely different. There will be changes to controlling squads creating and moving squads. So although the beta had a lot of problems it was just that a Beta! Not a finished product. EA also intend there to be a new patch for the game on launch to address a good few of the problems raised by the users

Re: BF3

Thanks for that rongtw. I rebuilt my system with BF3 specifically in mind as it was around 3.5 years old. It ran BFBC2 well but with medium settings, so the writing was on the wall. Now though I have an Asus pro mobo, Intel i5 2500k, 8GB Corsair ram, Sapphire 6970 all running on Windows 7 X64. If you want more info on BF3 go to www.ddd-gaming.net we have a complete section of information gleaned from various sites about new updates, specs etc. You may also look for us on BF3 we are DDD Armageddon. You will also find us on BFBC2 were we currently run a rush server. As we are a multigaming clan other games supported are Crysis 2, Red Orchestra and others

Re: BF3

I got offered the Beta of BF3 through e-mail for buying MOH tier 1, but I will wait until next friday to buy it. I have a question though... how is comms in-game, is it as good as BF2 squad talk or is it non existant like in BFBC2 ?. I am hoping it is like BF2 then I don't have to get a team speak server.

Re: BF3

Thanks rontw, looks like a TS server is the way to go then,
another question....
my home build is a couple of years old now, so for those that have played BF3 how do these specs add up, just to note, playing BF2 and BFBC2 with this setup, I still played with all settings on low and no AA or AF. I don't care if the game looks shit, as long as I kill people. Wink

Re: BF3

some first game reviews arriving online  Wink
I QUOTE
"Here's to hoping the launch of Battlefield 3 goes smoother than its predecessor. It would be a shame for such an amazing interactive entertainment experience to be marred by technical issues. In the long run, though, it won't matter, because once players step out of that troop carrier and see the sun shining in their eyes like never before -- once they see the light -- they'll understand what a special game Battlefield 3 is."

Re: BF3

I have been watching a few you tube videos of BF3 with the 4870 and it seems to run it OK, I did get side tracked and watched a few with some high end GFX cards and all I can say is wow. Roll on Friday
The problem is that the videos I saw on youtube with the 4870, they all seemed to be 1 meg cards and mine is only 512, so if it doesn't run it very well then I am going for this card.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-266-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1341
The last card I had before this was a nvidia gainward 7800 GS AGP, the one before that was an ati iceq 9800 pro I think, so I figure it is time to give nvidia a go again. It was a toss up between the 560 ti and the 6870, the 6870 seem to do better at higher resolutions and higher AA and AF, but seeing as I game at 1680 x 1050 (monitors native res), then I wont beneffit from playing at a higher res, and I don't really have AA and AF on when playing on line, so fingers crossed my 4870 will cut it and save me 150 - 200 quid.
