Any other fanatics for the Football Manager series?

I'm currently in the process of guiding FC United of Manchester through the ranks in the hope that I will be able to challenge the real Manchester United one day.
My top goalscorer is experienced 38 year old talisman Jon Macken

I tried the latest version of the game and compared to playing it 20 or so years ago on the amiga its way too complex now, players threatening to leave if they not picked every week and so on.

Me and my mate (massive football fan, never on board with the series) agreed that it was not a game that a football fan could jump in and completely be up to grips with, unless they had played it within the last 6 years or so. Too complex as you say. If you buy it every year though it's addictive as anything.
