Hi
Have had PS3 connected with NAT Type 2 via a plus net supplied Thomson 585v8: all work fine for years
& today have added the lovely, fast, Asus RT-N66u router - but can't get the PS3 to show anything other than NAT type 3

Has anyone cracked the settings?

So now you have a new router pluged into your Thomson 585v8?
Does it look like this:-
Thomson 585v8 --> Asus RT-N66u --> PS3
If so I believe you need to setup your Thomson 585v8 so that the Asus RT-N66u IP is ether dmz or public ip.
So using the Thomsons interface locate the IP of the Asus connected and then make sure its set as the dmz device.
Then once you have done that do the same thing to the Asus interface for your PS3 IP.

on the asus router webpage
WAN....DMZ.
set the ps3's ip into the dmz box
if that dont work then you may have to also disable upnp on the ps3 and also the routers firewall.
using upnp in dmz is pointless and just makes the router do extra work adding tiny delay......may sound stupid but it could be the difference between one more bullet into your head lol which kills you first.
