mac,

I don't have that modem but if you can add static DNS into it then add
212.159.6.9
212.159.6.10
and do the same on your 360.

Are you sure you've enabled internet connection sharing?

Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections > Right click on connection > Go to advanced tab > Make sure 'Allow others to share this connection' is ticked

This is usually the problem with my mates any way Wink

I would just buy a new modem/router to tell you the truth. I use a Netgear DG834G
wireless modem router to connect to Xbox live in conjunction with the official Xbox360 wirelss bridge and it works brilliantly. It also took me only 15m to set the whole lot up.

Forgive me if I am wrong.. But wont you need a crossover ethernet cable?

Or is that what you meant by ethernet cable.

---update

The Xbox supplied cable is not a crossover cable, which means you can only use it to connect from a Hub to a PC/Device. If you want to hook up without a hub you need a crossover cable.

Not necessarily...

It depends on whether the Ethernet port on the laptop or Xbox is auto-sensing - i.e. it will work whether you use a x-over cable or not.

Many of the newer routers and NICs and laptops can do this so a x-over cable is rarely needed with new equipment.

I'm not sure if ether the Xbox 360 or the laptop has an auto-sensing port but only one of them needs to have it.

In this situation I would recommend investing in a router anyway, that way you can use your Xbox without your laptop being on.

Yes Peter is right its auto-sensing so you dont need a crossover. I was getting confused with the old Xbox obviously Shockedops:

Ah well, I did try! Wink

I didnt even know about auto-sensing.. Man I am living in the past lol
