World of Warcraft Issues

After seeing others are suffering at major events in the game "heavy traffic points" with 40 odd people on the same screen etc, I thought I'd make a post so those having troubles can post them here and if they have any ways of making the situation better.

So far I have 2 issues.

1. Random Disconnections not linked to World of Warcraft but mainly netgear routers etc. This as far as I know is being looked into.

2. In heavy moments of big events in the game the ping goes from fine, to so high you eventually get disconnected making it impossible to play.

Now with issue 2, only people on plus net get this on the game server, I originally thought it was client issue, however seeing that those effected by this are all on plus net it makes me think otherwise.

Please post your experiences on these 2 issues below.

Thanks.

PS. Issue number 2 still occurs when im on either PTE, PTH and PTN, I know PTN has high ping issues to Telia at the moment.

I have the same problems.

Netgear 834 router - Firmware Version V2.10.17

Hellscream server in World of Warcraft. There is no obvious pattern to the disconnects. Sometimes its stable for over an hour, others I get booted twice in 10 minutes.

Each time restarting the game fixes the problem.

My router logs look like this...

Got a d-link dsl504 here and get the same disconnect problems. Usually in raids or large instances.

Basically the game lags, then everyone else starts moving again while I can't do anything. Then it lags again and again and again. MS doesn't change, and I eventually get disconnected from the server or get stuck in limbo not being able to do anything while things happen around me. Funnily enough my connection to ventrilo stays open and active while this is going on.

Restarting the client or logging in again works perfectly so it seems some essential packets might be being dropped.

There's also the typical Plus.Net's random dropouts of connectivity, which generally disconnects me from ventrilo and IRC too, but they're not so much a problem as this.

ye

the first poster suffers from issue one, which is a known issue.

second poster suffers from issue 2, same as me and some others which is a different matter and is insanely annoying.

I don't play WoW, I'm a Guild Wars player. The only similar thing that happens to me, is that the game lags, so if I click on an enemy my character doesn't move or respond in any way, then my connection cuts off and I ave to re-connect. I hasten to add that up until just befor the connection drops the game is totally lag free, no matter how much carnage is going on.

It doesn't lose synch though, just cut's off.

OK, guys, you need to make sure your problem isn't this issue.

http://portal.plus.net/central/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34546

The issue I wan't to try and bring awareness on is, the progressive lag that feels like packetloss leading to disconnections at heavy moments of gaming.

Also getting this problem as described.

Is it PN, Blizzard, or our own equipment?

same problem hutchy, not only do i have the disconnect problem mentioned elsewhere... but im also suffering increased lag, used to be around 30-40ms, now im on 300+ and providing im connected long enough (see first problem) i recieve the same lag spikes that ultimately disconnect the game.

interesting indeed.

Hopefully someone can take note of this issue and notice its different from the random disconnect issue.
