Thread to request port numbers for games

New games appear each month so would it be a good idea to have a thread specifically for the request of adding port numbers to the game profile? Similar to the Comms Max Upgrade Request thread by pcsni

I know raising a ticket is the preferred method but that is usually for faults and all those pre-checks will be unnecessary.

Members can post the name of the game together with the port numbers and the networks team can check if they have or have not been added to the profile.

TOCA Race Driver 3
UDP 26900
UDP 27900
UDP 3658

Just an idea?

Not a bad idea in itself, although it may be better placed to receive attention from Gamers in the Gaming Forum.

EDIT:
There is already a thread in the gaming forum dealing with requests for ports.

If there are games and services that are having problems then post them here and I will add them to an internal problem that we have open on the subject.

All I need is:

Game/Service Name - Ports (UDP/TCP)

e.g. Americas Army - TCP 20025-20045 and UDP 1716 - 1717

If you don't know what a game uses then google is your friend.

Thanks,

Didn't think about posting it there, thanks.

Please move to Gaming Forum if better placed there.

It's fine in here. I'll ask Carl to look.

Myself and several friends with PN have noticed much higher pings of late on Xbox Live, last night in particular was very bad - connecting to PTN-AG2 gateway.

For info the ports are:

UDP 88
TCP 3074
UDP 3074

Many thanks

NASCAR Racing 2003 by Papyrus, published by Sierra, my peak time times are up in the 600ms range. Not happy.

UDP ports 32766, 32767, 32768

What about people who are under NDA's and cant divulge what games they are testing?

What is the point in this thread. They never do anything about it anyway.

Just another tool to try and keep us quiet for a while

and its never going to work 100% since new games are arriving all the time and even on console platforms now most can use internet play. Instead of an inclusive throttling policy where everything needing to go fast had to be explicitly specified, it should be setup and an exclusive policy where everything is as fast as possible except the bandwidth hogging apps. (read: p2p) The only thing i can assume is that p2p people are getting too clever with encryption etc and its getting a pain to keep up to date with throttling profiles. Once again a minority spoiling it for everyone else...

Can I add Live for Speed to this list? I'm afraid I haven't a clue what ports it uses, however it has been fine for absolutely ages until this last 3-4 weeks.

rFactor: ports 34297 UDP, 34397 UDP, 34447 TCP. I think.

Terrible pings for about 4 weeks. Lets hope this makes it better.
