hmm no chance you'll need a better PC first,1942 is a heavy load on a decent PC. On mine it will crawl at times online if settings are set to medium-high

Really? I've played it on 1.7ghz P4 256SD ram and it played ok (yes, kinda jerky). I figure if I buy some more ram that should fix it.

The recommended spec is 800mhz with 256mb of ram.

Minimum specs doesn't = good game play. Ok it will run but at a crawl, he will have to reduce everything to low settings, so put him self at a disadvantage online. So using 640*400 or even 800*600[if lucky] on low graphics will make it difficult to see what is happening eg wheres that sniper.

So best not to waste money on a game he won't enjoy until he has a better PC to enjoy it.

I have some friends that play it on 700mhz & 800mhz cpus with geforce2's. Obviously it isnt the best thing ever, but it must be playable. They were even using roger wilco at the same time!

My PC takes the strain on a

900Mhz Athlon
GeForce4 Ti4200 with latest Detonator Drivers
640Mb Ram
7200Rpm HDD

Then I run 512k ADSL I would advise people to buy more RAM and upgrade graphics. I believe that you could run this game on a 700Mhz

RAM is the key. I can play it on a 1.7ghz with geforce2 mx400 with 256mb of ram. I bought a 256 stick and it made it a load better, so I bought another 256 stick, and it made it even better (highest res. etc). Basically, the bottleneck for most systems is amount of ram. CPU and graphics card wise, it's not too fussy.

also depends on if you are playing a mod.as some 1 who plays alot of desert combat i can tell u this much,dc eats ram like theres no tommorow unlike if u play the original 1942 and also dc is alot faster, but deff yes if your gonna play this game best advice is make sure you have plenty of ram Smiley
