Anyone playing any MMO's?

hi,ive been playing planetside as last 9 months,1 world,10 continents with upto 500 people on 1 continent.its a tactical fps with some truely huge battles.emphasis is mostly based on teamwork with your squad and other squads which form platoons, each player progresses by accumulating battle experience which allows you to aquire new weapons or skills, and if you lead squads you gain command experience which ultimately allows you to command entire battles.downside to it is you need a really fast pc with huge ram to make the most of it (1 continent is the equivalent of approx 8 sq km,so a lot of ram is needed to preload maps).sony support the game very well with constant updates and allthough it tends to introduce some bugs at times they usually have them fixed pretty sharpish.

ahh right.
yeah, i heard about that one.
how well can you personalise your character? is it possible to design something pretty unique, or does everybody look the same?

i've got a AMD 2000 + 512mb memory + GeForce4 64MB.
Do you think i'll be ok with this?

I could do with upgrading at some point. But not got the cash at the mo.
Need the extra power for running extra VSTi's in Nuendo, which is what I mainly use my PC for.

I play Star Wars Galaxies where i am a raid leader and Master Swordsman.

Its a great game and swordsman is a very fun class.

You can personalise you character more than i have ever seen in the other games i have played (EQ/UO/DAOC). I have yet to bump into the "twins" you see in these games. Also, your skills are totally cusom. I multi class with medic, scout, rifleman and brawler.

The only thing you perhaps need to upgrade is the G Force. Try the Hercules Radeon 9800se AIW for about £120, which you can softmod to a full Radeon 9800 pro.

lo,for planetside your looking at having at least 1gb ram,128mb would be better as well on your gfx card.the more ram you throw at it the better,im running with 1 1/2 gb of ddr400 and it will use over 1 gb of that for the game.as regards personalizing your character there are several main choices to make and then take different skills to suit your character.there are fighter/scout pilots, ground attack pilots, bomber pilots and transport pilots, you can drive a wide variety of ground vehicles from main battle tank to all terrain vehicles and anti aircraft vehicles, there are squad transport and fuel truck drivers.for main fighting there are heavy grunts with more specialist equipment which will include medics and engineers.there are atm only 3 advanced skills which are hacking advanced medic and combat engineering.there are several different armour types from heavy armour down to cloaking suit which allows you to infiltrate enemy bases.most people try out most options during the course of building there character up before choosing what sort character they want to progress as allthough it is easy to forget certifications you have learned over a period of time if you find it isnt to your taste.

Benskia, that's exactly what Eve is. www.eve-online.com

Superb new version of Elite that the 2 inventors of Elite should be proud to have inspired. Currently over 14,000 players active in the same space environment. You can fight computer rats, players, have wars with other corps or even take on a large number of corps who are grouped in an alliance and fight for an area of space to call your own. You can be an outlaw, a bounty hunter, mercenary for hire, miner, builder, researcher etc etc etc.
