So my nearest cabinet is set to accepting orders. It has been that way for weeks that i know of, possibly longer.
Why is Plusnet not able to offer me fibre on it while other companies can? I would really rather not be switching
ISP just to upgrade to fiber.
TR15 1DS is the cabinet.
Regards
Mark

Nearest cabinet might not be the one your line is connected to.
Cab should have a number on it
what does the BT line checker used against your actual number (not postcode say)
both in terms of is it the same cabinet number and what services are available

I think the issue is that Plusnet do not have a released FTTP product so you are unable to place an order. Their FTTP offering has been under trial for a significant number of months (years!) but has not made into the product set.
You can request to join the trial by going to https://portal.plus.net/wizard/index.html?wizard_id=20 and then clicking of FTTP Trial.

Quote from: markszita ..., i will give this some thought.
If you read the threads in this section of the forum you'll see that there are quite a few of us who are on the 'trial' and are quite happy with the service (I've just had it installed myself). The reason that PN (and most other ISPs) do not offer to sell FTTP as an official product is that it would require training a large number of staff for what is still something of a niche service. Apparently only around 1% of the country as a whole can get FTTP, whilst here in Cornwall (without going into the politics of why) we're more fortunate with 22% availability (according to a recent post on TBB). I believe the town where I live is probably much higher than that even.
So if you don't mind making your enquiries and service requests through this forum, and the fact that BT Openreach might mess you around a bit with missed instalment appointments, once the service is installed it should be pretty much trouble-free.

@markszita
Just a heads up, the Plusnet trial speed on offer is the 80Mbps/20Mbps (same as FTTC and for the same price too) so if you want the higher speeds you will need to consider BT Retail as they offer Infinity 3 and 4 for the up to 200Mbps and 300Mbps respectively.
Oh and Plusnet TV is not compatible with Plusnet FTTP, I guess it is the joys of being a "trial product".

I really want to avoid BT so it's just as well that i am not all that interested in excessive speeds.
Going to go ahead and try for the trial soon, nothing to lose i guess.
Thanks again for the responses, very helpful.
