Why am i only getting 36mbps when i pay for 500mbps

Can anyone help? How do I get Plusnet to check all is well?
I pay for 500mbps but getting 36mbps.

@Prmiaj are you testing using a wired connection to the router ?

No. I am testing on my laptop using the WiFi. How do I do what you suggested please?

@Prmiaj Connect an Ethernet cable between your laptop and one of the yellow ports on the Hub.

At a guess I think your laptop has connected to the Hub on 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz

If you log into the Hub and browse from >Home >My devices hopefully you will see what frequency the laptop has connected.

Sometimes it's just a mater of disconnecting and reconnecting the laptop WiFi to restore the faster connection.

Depending on the WiFi interface of your laptop you still may not get the 500Mbps you are expecting, my HP laptop only gives me around 320 Mbps on a 900 Mbps connection

To be honest I'd be happy with that but 36mbps is ridiculous!!

So, have you tried the wired connection, as suggested?

I cant just yet, but will do tomorrow when I'll have access to the router without anyone needing it for work. 😊

Also, just a thought, and I don't know if it is even possible for an FTTP connection to work if it isn't - the cable from the ONT is definitely plugged into the WAN port on your  router, isn't it?

Plusnet have said I have a fault, they are coming out tomorrow 😊
