Unify UDR7

Hi,

Full Fibre installation and I am trying to connect a Unify UDR 7 router direct to plusnet but the PPoE settings arent working

My installer says I dont need the plusnet hub2 at all, never mind in bridge mode (says he does this a few times a month)

He has used the following to try and set up the UDR7

<myusername>@plusdsl.net along with the password I use to connect to the plusnet portal

It doesnt connect at all

Any ideas? he's adamant he doesnt need the hub2 at all in bridge mode

any advice appreciated

thanks

@contiva He's correct, just connect the UDR WAN port directly to the ONT

Make sure you havent got VLAN tagging enabled

I'm not familiar with the UDR, is there any log file to indicate why the PPPoE connection may be failing ?

Just checking, does the connection work if you use the Hub 2 ?

Re: Unify UDR7

@contiva Must admit I don't know why it doesn't work - your settings all look correct to me. Your installer is correct, you do not need the Hub2 - the ONT is the modem.

Sorry if this  doesn't help much, but I'm wondering if it something in the UDR7's settings - I have no idea, as I  haven't got one, but hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along.

Re: Unify UDR7

all sorted - had to use a manual DNS entry rather than auto

Re: Unify UDR7

@contiva does the UDR try to ping the DNS server as a connectivity test by any chance ?

The Plusnet DNS servers won't respond to ping
