I received an email after applying for the trial saying I cant have the FTTP trial as I am on FTTC already and the FTTP service is ONLY for people who cant get FTTC? How can that be as surely FTTC has to be available for FTTP to even exist in the first place?

Welcome to the community forums @ukdelinquent
Looking at the estimates for your line, it does show 330Mbps is available, however this is unfortunately for FTTPoD and not WBC FTTP.

As Oldjim has said, FTTPoD is unfortunately not the same as the FTTP offered on the fibre trial.

Essentially, FTTPoD is/was much more expensive than WBC FTTP. In all honesty I'm not sure Openreach even offer provisioning of FTTPoD any more.
The main difference between FTTP and FTTPoD is that with FTTP BT Openreach have already run the fibre optic cables in the street and past every house. To order an FTTP service they then only need to run the fibre from the house to the nearest distribution point in the street. For a property where the fibre is fed overhead by a telegraph pole that usually just means replacing the dropwire from pole to building with a combined copper/fibre cable and connection the fibre to the distribution point at the bottom of the pole. For an underground fed property it's similar except they run the fibre through the duct to the property and connect it up. In most cases the new fibre is less than 100 metres.
With FTTPoD none of the fibre infrastructure in the street has been done. So in this case rather than just running the fibre from your house to the pole they have to run it to the cabinet in the street and then back to the nearest fibre node as well and build the necessary infrastructure including the distribution point on top. This could involve running several miles of new fibre. As such from an installation perspective it's a lot more complicated, time consuming and costly.
In the past, I've seen quotes of 10's of thousands of pounds just to install the service.

It's not likely to turn up any time soon.
If you need more bandwidth, have you considered getting a second FTTC line?
