First of all, what's happened to the table that shows the rate different services are throttled to at different times? All I can find now is a stupid table with one, two or three stars, which tells you nothing.
Assuming it still exists, is there one for the FTTC connections? Usenet seems to be throttled into non-existence 24x7 on my line at the moment, so I want to see what I should be getting before I start complaining.
Thanks.
Alan.

Actually I take it back, it's just gone from 64KB/s to 4.1MB/s
I could still do with the table that shows the expected speeds at different times, though. Came in handy at times.
Alan.

You want this for download: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/download_speeds.shtml
And this for upload http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/upload_speeds.shtml
As an aside, simply amazed by the number of people on PN that a) use usenet and b) need it to be fast. Back when I did use usenet it was over a 2400baud modem, cost me the price of the phone call, and I thought it worked acceptably quickly then. Just a comment, not a question.

Yes that's the one, thanks for that. I was getting line speed all the time when the FTTC line first went live, the manual tweak to fix my profile must have bypassed the limiter somehow.

Yep, it's still big business. Giganews has basically stopped throwing anything away, and have over 9 petabytes of disc space and 1000 days binary retention.
