For those that are interested in some stats on FTTC.......
I have been connected to FTTC since April 9th and have attached a PDF showing some charts from my SamKnows monitoring. Apart from the significant increase in speed shown between March and April
it shows that FTTC (on my line) has a lower latency and is more stable. My modem remained synced (until last night!!) for 22 days solidly. I guess I have around a 600m line from the cabinet.
FTTC has been a great improvement I can now watch stuff streamed on YouTube, BBC iPlayer, 4oD etc with no problems at all!
Interestingly it appears that the download is "throttled" every night between 6pm and 10pm....... Who does it and why? ...It is always the same speed no matter what day of the week or whether it is a holiday or not!
If anyone is interested in any other data let me know and I'll post it.
Regards
George
PS appolgies for the "bad" layout of the document but I've not got time to make it all fancy!
