Ok so, it seems I have been unlucky lately.
1)The plusnet modem has fixed lights like if after a reboot is testing continuously without interruption
2)yesterday I bought the nighthawk r7000, at the beginning was perfectly working but after a few hours
Broken as well, wireless working but all the rj45 interfaces not
3)I exchanged the router and now while everything seems working the router can't understand the type
Of connection, yesterday could do it, if I setup the connection manually the port 1 of the ont starts
Blinking continuously but no connection
I'm a doing something wrong? Yesterday with the other router I needed 5 minutes for everything
Cheers

Is the PON light solid green? Or off/flashing? What is LOS doing? What about the port light you're connect to?
Have you tried rebooting the ONT (disconnect the power backup supply)? I think you might also be able also do a reset of the ONT if there's a reset push in button.

Hi Andy,
is fixed now, I had to manually configure the router and I had to add the service name "Plusnet" inside the required field.
Just for people reading :
If you try to connect directly to the ont using Windows you need :
1)Setup a new ppoe connection
2)Let the connection failing but save it.
3)Go on connection properties and add the service name "Plusnet" (the one you add during the connection setup has no effect apparently)
For the Netgear Nighthawk 7000 :
If the wizard does not work and it can't recognize the type of connection :
1)Look at the ont mac address
2)Setup the router manually being careful that the mac used is the ont one
3)Add the service name or the connection is not going to be established.
Why yesterday the Nighthawk could effortlessly connect to the service and this new router can't
is still a problem I haven't resolved yet.
cheers

Glad it's fixed - seems like a hard way of setting up that router!
