Plusnet VOIP

I currently have Plusnet Broadband only (FTTP Trial, no contract).

I ditched my copper landline some time ago and use Vonage VOIP for voice calls.

There still appears to be no Plusnet VOIP offering.

If I add the cost of broadband (including the recently announced Plusnet price increase) and Vonage VOIP it comes to £23.78 + £3.42 + £10.25 = £37.45 per month.

Am I right in thinking that BT customers get Digital Voice for free as part of their FTTP broadband package?

If so, the surely it would work out cheaper to switch from Plusnet to BT and cancel Vonage VOIP?

Re: Plusnet VOIP

Hmmm - just checked BT prices.

It looks like it would cost around £36/month including phone, so not much in it.

The deal does include faster broadband speeds however (150Mb download, 30Mb upload).

@briank   no you are not right. Go to BT.com to see how much they charge for voice.

They do seem to have a good deal for their 500Mbps service which might save you a few pence, but then their call charges will get you.

@briank

Depending on how much you use your phone have a look at the VOIP offering from Andrews & Arnold.

@briank

I assume that that the £10.25  in your current package is for unlimited calls? If so, have you added that into the BT costs?
