I am a bit nervous about this as if I keep rebooting Plusnet may see this as instability on the connection and not allow full speed?
Because FTTP is basically an 'all or nothing' service (with no 'syncing' required as with xDSL services) you can reboot your router as often as you like without it affecting your speed.
What does it say here Current line speed - login required? (Just in case the settings have somehow changed on your account at PNs end)..

As advised, FTTP pretty much works or it doesn't. Looks like the settings on the PlusNet side of things didn't stick.
Couple of other things to think about now you're up and running.
If you're happy with your current router do you need to change to the PlusNet one (and have to reset all your WiFi equipment)? If you do keep your old router as a back up just in case.
If you're planning on dropping your phone line do so through this forum - this ensures no back office muck ups like a cancelled account rather than just a cancelled phone service.

All was well until this morning when it dropped back to 4mb/s ....last night I was getting 75 mb/s download!!
Has anything changed your end?
Also my phone line is now redundant and I want the service discontinued. Please can you let me know what this will cost and also what my monthly bill will be moving forward once it is cancelled.

Although in some situations it may be possible to simply change the SSID and wireless password of the new router to those of the old one.

Looks like your wizardry is required again.
If you are out of contract then there is no cancellation fee but there is a £2.50 monthly internet only surcharge,
If you're still in contact then cancellation fees will apply.

@Gandalf - as per my previous post - are you able to cancel my phone line as it is now totally redundant? Also could you please let me know the cost.

Hi Adrian.
The speed profile on your account is still showing as 80000kbps.
Can you run a BT speedtest at http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com using a wired connection, completing the further diagnostics at the end? This will store the result on the supplier system and will help us in reporting a fault to our suppliers.
With regards to cancelling your phone line I've provided more information here.

Hi @Gandalf
Tonight I changes the Ethernet cable that was in the ONT for a longer one. This was a CAT 7 high quality cable. Since I have done this my speed has dropped from 78 mb/s to around 5 mb/s
Any ideas? do you need to do something your end if I change the cable from the ONT?

I believe Gandalf said he has gone on annual leave in another post so he wont be getting back to you soon.
Have you changed the cable back to the original one see if the speed returns? You may just have a bad cable.
Also what speed does the https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed show, just in case your ADSL speed profile has been reloaded.
Changing the cable will not alter anything at Plusnet's end by itself.
